This dataset contains information about approved secondary suites in The City of Calgary. It can be viewed on an interactive map at http://secondarysuites.calgary.ca/
Dates for suites approved and completed prior to 2008 are set to Jan 1, 2008.

The Development Permit Public Notices data set consists of development permits which have been made public. The City of Calgary is required by law to publish Development Permit information for two weeks.

Tenancy change applications are for businesses that are changing owners, with no change to the approved use within a space. If no construction is occurring and the use is not intensifying or changing, planning approvals may be completed through a tenancy change. A building permit may also be required if upgrades are necessary to comply with the Alberta Building Code.

Electrical permits are issued for the installation, addition or alteration of electrical components. Permits must be obtained and inspections completed prior to occupying the space the equipment is servicing. This dataset shows inspections for electrical permits. Data is provided daily by The City of Calgary.

Plumbing permits are issued for the installation, addition or alteration of a plumbing system. Permits must be obtained, and inspections completed by Development, Business & Building Services before using the system. If a plumbing inspection has been completed, the inspection results will be identified in this dataset.

Gas permits are issued for the installation, addition or alteration of a gas system. Permits must be obtained, and inspections completed by Development, Business & Building Services before using the system. If a gas inspection has been completed, the inspection results will be identified in this dataset.

Some communities in Calgary require a residential parking permit. The Calgary Parking Authority issues residential parking permits and enforces their restrictions, but the City of Calgary establishes residential parking zones. This data shows the communities which have residential parking zones.

HVAC or Mechanical permits are issued for the installation, addition or alteration of a heating and ventilation system. Permits must be obtained and inspections completed prior to occupying the space the equipment is servicing.
